Why Do People Think There's More Pressure On A 16-0 Team?

Just Win Baby
Once you're in the playoffs, it's one and done for every team. Every team faces the same on field pressure. There may be some more off the field pressure, but between the lines it's all the same.

I always shake my head when people say it's better to go 15-1 or 14-2 than go 16-0.

Except former Pat players like Teddy Bruschi and Rodney Harrison have said that the pressure builds the longer you go undefeated. You can talk about just winning the next game, but it's only human nature to realize that you're flirting with football immortality the longer the streak goes :manny:

Also gives your opponent that extra bit of motivation.

Hell you saw the Giants celebrating the Pats going 18-1 just as much as they were celebrating the fact they just won the Super Bowl :russ:

Ehh, I think it's legit.

It's mostly from within. Most people, once they become cognizant of that streak they tend to add that pressure to themselves. Whether it's hitting x number of free throws in a row, or hitting y number of shots in pool in a row, or whatever...most people are unable to block out the previous attempts once they realize they have a significant streak going, particularly if its historic.
