Why do people wait until they’re already fat to start working out.

For some people like myself, they need a reality check that they can’t get from anybody else as perhaps access to equipment isn’t available, or the importance of physical health wasn’t stressed in the house growing up. I’ve always been a big dude, and it wasn’t like I had ready access to a gym or whatever (my best chance at working out would have involved playing for a school team, and they all sucked. In retrospect I wish I had sucked it up just to get into the habit).

Anyway, I needed the scale to show me a number that made me realize that I was too fat. That thing showed me 317 and it was a combo of:ohhh::picard::ufdup::damn::mindblown::snoop:

From then on, I’ve been more mindful and I’m getting better about it. And you know what, now when my grandma sees me she says I’m getting too little, like I don’t need to lose at least 30 more pounds. :why:

I don't want to be rude but as a 5'8 breh I resent big people complaining about being fat...You can lose weight but I can't gain height...People don't understand the torment that short brehs receive :russ: fat shaming my ass no more short shaming...

I still think its fukk that scale weight and personally think what made you decide to lose weight was a mixture of how you felt and looked....if you were 317 and (just an example) in your mind felt and looked good you would of been good.

How you feel about yourself, how you feel physically, and how you look to yourself on top of measurable physical performance and positie health markers goes further than a scale weight.

People are wrapped into an ideal scale weight but it is irrelevant. But if that's what it takes for them to decide to get healthy than it works.

Facts. No lie, I didn’t really like where I was or how I looked, but seeing that number made me realize how out of hand shyt had gotten. I just kept putting it off and putting it off, saying if I ever hit 300 that would be the kick. I was STUPID for waiting. Should have gotten into the gym the day I got to college.

Taking care of your body is a responsibility everyone has. It shows a lack of self respect when someone is overweight and does nothing about it

Edit

Just one more thing. We could use a coli head count on what type of shape brehs are in. Swolled up, frail, athletic, fat etc

I have a feeling Coli brehs need to get into better shape :stopitslime:

Make that thread breh
