i think Wayne being the biggest rapper in an era that is considered weak has a ton to do with it

every top youtube comment 'this is so much better than that Wayne shyt on the radio! TRU SCHOOL'

that never made sense to me, he used the same producer for his first 5 albums, worked well in a crew, stayed loyal etc. he got a ton of flack for fallout that was probably more Birdman's doing than anything else. people have always hated whats hot, but i think the weakened overall product and aging of past favorites has made a ton of fans feel obtuse and out of place on the whole
