Why do single women brag about being independent so much?

I mean it's cool to feel that way but they act like they deserve a throne for basically being non dependent on men. I mean shyt that's what your supposed to do when you're on your own and respect to you.

I never heard a breh say "I'm a independent man"

I don't wanna come off as a sexist because I'm not, I just find hilarity in that. I'm also the type that never toot my own horn about my accomplishments.

I just hear the phrase so much that it makes me wonder if these women are really independent by choice? Or are they independent because they can't keep a man around to pay they're bills/help raise they're kids so they're left with no other options?

Outside of some bullshyt "motivational" instagram post, nobody here has ever heard of a single woman who was single by choice. Yes, the girl you're thinking of may have ended her last relationship, but she's only single because the guy she jumped ship for didn't work out.

There's not a woman anywhere in the world who is going to willingly leave a relationship so that she can sit at home alone on a Friday night.

It may exist somewhere in nature, but it's so rare that it's not worth talking about.

Instagram is a lie. They're lying. Women do not want to be independent or single.
