North Jersey but I miss Cali :sadcam:
The way the media covers a major snow storm, especially on the east coast is like over kill to the 10th power.

We get into routines and we basically become mindless sheep to routines. Just like black Friday, and every other stupid tradition. The weather baffles my mind though. I could see if there was a snow storm in Miami or some shyt but Buffalo. We have this sickening fascination with disaster and overall bad news. Why?

East coast snow storms are no joke. Last winter's snow didn't completely melt in Boston until JULY. In buffalo peoples roofs collapsed under the weight of the snow piled up. Over reporting is much better than the alternative which is people dying because they did not properly stock supplies, or prepare for the snowpocalypse that is a north east winter

But if you live in a city that snows every year like clock work... shouldn't you be prepared once winter hits regardless?

It's all for ratings to bring in advertisers. People will watch a car wreck even if it means endangering their own life. The "news" knows this so they blow things outta proportion to keep the public tuning in.

I think it's more about the possible impact of the storm. Preparing for the worst. Most of the time, the storm doesn't end up being as bad. When I say "prepare", I mean brace for the impact. Gov buildings and school closings, canceled flights, road conditions, etc.

There's nothing like them predicting a huge snowstorm is on the way and you go to the store and stock up on food, drinks(including alcohol), then the storm hits and they cancel work, and u sittin in the crib, in ya drawz, drinkin hennessy, and playin ps4:banderas:

Then the powers goes out:beli:
