Why do some people feel this way about Allen Iverson?

You right, but you cant take away what he did on the floor:usure:

Who's taking away? Great player. Amazing to watch. One of my favorites. He's at the same level of Grant Hill, T-Mac, and those types.

How can a board that LOVES Russell Westbrook and Kobe Bryant HATE on Allen Iverson's shooting % ?:mindblown:

Kobe, especially in his prime, was way more effecient and a much better scorer than AI.

I'll never understand Iverson hate from anyone who actually played basketball or watched the NBA during his prime. Iverson was probably the most talented/exciting player to watch after jordan and kobe during that era.

that the problem though. most of these nerds don't watch the games. they're like the fantasy football cacs that only follow the box scores.

I don't know how anyone who watched AI could not love him. his game was exciting. he played every play like it was his last. and he never cheated you no matter the game. he's my second favorite player to watch all-time behind kobe.

AI was a great and entertaining player but people act like he's in that elite tier with Kobe, Bron, Jordan, etc.

He's not.

:what: no one says that. stop making shyt up just to attack iverson. all we say is he's prolly the best player under 6" in nba history. definitely the best scorer. a top 30 or so player all-time. and defintely one of the best of his era.

:comeon: one of these things is not like the other

Wade's best seasons are godly. 30 PPG on 50% shooting?

so lemme get this straight. u disregard everything else that a player brings to the table except his fg%?

u realize how stupid you sound.

26 PPG on 42% isn't that impressive to me. 26 PPG career average really that impressive when you realize his TS% is .518 which is Fukking awful.

Iverson is a great player, he's not on the elite. And no, he's nowhere near Wade.

difference between me and you is you base your views of numbers on a page. i actually remember watching how those numbesr got accumulated. you must be a young cat that didn't watch AI play. if you did, you wouldn't be this disrespectful.

there is a reason ALL his peers respected him.

I don't really give a fukk how he got those numbers. Heart, will, and attacking the rim don't translate into effectiveness on the court. It makes him an extremely respectable and admirable player but it doesn't make him better. AI probably has ten times the heart of Lebron, Shaq, and Durant but no sane person would say he's better than any of those players.

AI has an awful career TS% and he had to chuck a lot of shots because he wasn't very effecient. What he did was amazing, for his size, but that doesn't really make him a better player. Nate Robinson and Isaiah Thomas are both marvels for being NBA players despite the fact that they're relatively small but they don't get plus points.

Putting AI with the likes of T-Mac, Grant Hill (Before injury), and other amazing players isn't a slight on him. He's great. He's beneath the GOATS(top ten),the elite (KG, Dirk, Wade, Malone, Barkley), and he's with the great tier.

he was 5'11" 160 lbs. the fact he shot that well considering how much he scored was remarkable.

like i said in many other threads, if Iverson was 6'6" he woulda been the consensus GOAT

If Shaq had Curry's stroke, he'd be the consensus GOAT.

If Lebron had Hakeem's footwork, he'd be the GOAT.

If Kobe had MJ's athleticism and brains, he'd be...MJ.

If Durant had MJ's post game, he'd be the GOAT.

If Curry had Westbrook's athletic ability, he'd be the GOAT.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda.

But he isn't and he doesn't get plus points for being small.
