Why do some people rather stay in denial than facing the truth?

for some hearing/seeing the truth rattles them to their core, especially if the situation being exposed is something they have held on to and built their life, self esteem and self awareness around. like with these ancestry DNA test a lot of white people are highly upset to find that the "native american" relative really was more than likely of african decent. i saw a clip online of a woman crying over that because her family has built some sort of folk lore around it

i don't personally get the obsession over certain artist and their personal life. like if there were milli vanili-ing yet i could understand though

To find out that everything you ever believed in is bullshyt won't be an easy pill to swallow for anyone, but ultimately accepting the fact must be done to move forward. I've had my world rattled a multitude of times so I understand it.

Denying what is clearly the truth will only make you a fool in the end though. I still struggle with this I admit.:snoop:
