Why Do Some People Want Certain Games To FAIL So Bad?

there is a significant segment of gamers that pray for some games downfall. you're seeing it now with no man's sky. nikkas are throwing parties out'chea, happy the game is a "failure" why so petty? what do they get out of it?

I have a feeling FFXV is gonna encounter a similar scenario where folks are gonna be praying for that game's downfall and revel in its failure when it doesn't get perfect 10's

same reason people get salty when you say something about their religion or political party... they're blinded by their need to identify with a team

they cannot put their ego aside for a moment, because then they would have to come to terms with the fact that they are pathetic

Not sure man. Part of it is entitlement. Every single spoiled ass gamer thinks the game should've been exactly how they would've made it. They can't appreciate any risk taking, or admire the effort and vision of creating something even if it doesn't fit their taste.

Gamers are also very reactionary and hyperbolic. i.e. "Oh you can't have pets in this game 0-10!"

You can bet your ass it will happen with FF too.
