We've been through this many times.

If you walk a guy, his on base percentage is 1.0000.

And statistically the odds of that batter coming around to score are higher than if you pitch to him.

A player may have a hot streak but no player will consistently hit enough to make walking him every time worth it.

And before you mention Bonds,
1. Even Bonds wasn't worth walking every time
2. The Marlins have a better lineup than those Giants teams.

he also didn't have a reputation of being THIS. this clutch of a hitter. not just a slugger, but an actual good hitter. it feels like every homerun he's had over the last 2 months has either put the Marlins ahead or tied the game. and yesterday, he swung away from the shift :krs: and got an rbi on a hit down the line. he's becoming a much better "hittter" he's not even striking out as much. no more whifer :blessed:

Stanton has dropped his K-rate from 29.8% to 23.5%. That may not seem like a lot but it is.

He's being more selective and it is paying off. He's putting more balls in play and even the balls that aren't going out of the park are being hit hard for singles/doubles...

He changed up his swing, he's cutting off the plate as he's edging closer to it and he's already a big guy so he's damn near covering it and with his swing adjustment, he's able to see the balls much better without much space for the pitcher to work with. He's launching them as a result. It's been a beauty to see

The way you describe this made me realize that baseball is truly too intricate of a sport for me to really appreciate and enjoy coupled with the pace of the game:manny:

if you been watching the marlins, they've showed the side by sides of his stance. usually baseball broadcasts do a good job of breaking that stuff down
