Why do whites say that the best way to end racism is to stop talking about it? My roomate said this dumbass shyt to me and I almost beat his ass, but he was a cancer survivor so I let it go. How come in America we can't keep it 100 anymore?shyt I prefer a real racist than those cover up motherfukkers that catch you off guard but maybe the racism is just subconscious. I personally say whatever I want so I can't tolerate people that don't keep their views 100, that just means you have no type of backbone. Im Mexican and I can personally say race isn't an uncomfortable topic for me(unless its with white poeple that think Mexican is a race,or are just ignorant about race in general) I just don't get the saying "Best way to stop racism is to stop talking about it" Imagine how fukked up that statement would be if I said "Best way to stop rape is to stop talking about it" shyt just doesn't make sense.

Because it allows them to avoid the uncomfortable guilt not only over slavery, but over the resulting predicament that black people are in today.
And it allows them to avoid the guilt over the benefits they enjoy as a result of the white supremacy policies that followed slavery.

Look, I think we can all understand (if not agree) that a white person born in 1980 didn't grow up doing anything to subjugate minorities.
But that's not the point. The point is that very little has been done to correct (or mitigate) the effects of slavery or Jim Crow in the years since white people "smartened up".
