I don't know anyone that "loves" cutting, so I can't help you there.
For the abusive boyfriend, there's a chance they loved him before he became abusive, and it's reallllllyyyy hard to stop loving someone. so yeah.
Heels are cute. and they're only damaging if you wear them all the time.
