Many settle for a man even though his personality sucks and tries to change him later because he has above average looks or popularity.

They do not refuse to settle until they find a man with a good personality and thats how they find themselves in relationship issues.

This isn't absolute, but I feel this is very true in the general sense.

Most women hate settling, so they try to change the negatives that a man may possess to try to create a (subjectively)better or perfect man.

Most men hate doing without, so they will (subjectively) date/marry low caliber woman so that they aren't doing without (sex, typically). Men also like easy, so if there aren't any negative stipulations attached, they'll take "easy" or "free."
