They usually only refer to black women when they say this. I actually think it's mainly people who are in poverty. And it's an affectation for self defense because of where they are from. I've told my Remy Ma story, she can be really sweet and sounds feminine. But she grew up in the Bronx during the fukking 80's. Im sure it was the same for La Chat growing up in Memphis and Lady of Rage in Cali. You are a product of where your were raised and the culture and climate.

Nah it's definitely race related for the most part as I noted above. NY Latinas (Dominicans, Ricans, etc) are mostly Black so they're pretty much get bottled in with Black Women.
