Thats where youre wrong. How much you make is irrelevant. Whats yours is yours, and just because you and your wife are no longer together should They don't really know anything about alimony. They just want to complain. Most people don't receive/pay alimony. It's only awarded in 15% of divorces and it's usually when one person makes a lot more than the other person. lool

They also just want the woman to leave destitute even if they was paying half the mortgage. Don't get married breh (so you can avoid alimony that you probably wouldn't pay anyway, you never have to worry about losing a house that you actually did help pay for, and we don't have to hear you constantly bytching).

A guy with a million bucks ,two homes and 4 cars will be left with 300k a house and a car which will suck but he can build from there
A guy who makes 40k with one home and one car will be left homeless, riding the bus and living back at his moms....

I think the op was referring more to pre-nups in general and the division of assets that result from divorce and not just alimony.
We all know damn well what the typical divorce settlement looks like, so lets not act like the avg divorced women is getting taken to the cleaners.
Why such hostility towards pre-nups though?
Oh thats right women don't typically marry down when it comes to wealth.![]()
Nothing that you had before the marriage is considered in the divorce.
Everything that was made during the marriage should be split up and given to each spouse.
