Probably overcompensating for their guilt at hatin on darker skinned sisters............Its almost equivilent to pro black females who with a cac, so to prove to themselves they really are, they come off being some of the downest pro black chicks, then you find out........

There are two type of coli members when it comes to this

1. Those who know the harsh truth and are shameless about admitting it
2. Those who know the harsh truth but try to deny it

Fairer skin (especially in regards to women) is more aesthetically pleasing to most of the world and black people are no exception. Its why out of every race, black people are the only ones who overwhelmingly preach the "color doesnt matter, do whatever you want" bullshyt while every other race wants to either stay within their race or breed with a member of a pastier race

The fact of the matter is that certain features typically seen in West Africans are not attractive and many people subconsciously know this, even those of West African descent themselves.

I never cared much for the lightskin thing(I am one of those midnight girl fans)
But for whatever reason, even if black, if she light and you like it, that is a bad thing.
Praising dark chicks gets you praise...I would think nobody would care either way, so long as she is black.

The ones who are genuinely fond of darker women don't go out of their way to insult lighter ones.
The ones who are overcompensating for brownie points are easy to spot.
We can't pretend there isn't a color-ism issue in the black community, though. Hell, it's heavily prevalent in other cultures.
I think a lot of black people feel guilty about it.
I'm damn near beige but I've never apologized for it. I've read on this board a guy claiming to be yellow wishing he was darker, though.
That's just as counterproductive to me as it is a dark skin man wishing he was lighter.
You're still black and should be comfortable in your own skin.

As a black person I was actually offended at the hype over her (and the selected others) by the white media (and in turn , trying too hard ass nikkas)....

I fully understand y white liberals feel the need, but not normal black people with functioning eyeballs.

Takes away from the real beautiful women we have of every shade.

I just like chocolate skin. When it's healthy it's smooth and has a nice sheen. Light is nice too but kinda "average".
Same with kinky/curly hair, it's nice because it's different.

Some people just like to root for the underdog and other's like the OG's. Dark skin is the prototype.
