Why do you think Robin has been featured so infrequently in the movies?

I’ve been reading some comics and it got me thinking how little Robin has been featured in the movies. To my count there have been 10 live action movies with Batman (counting Batman v Superman and Justice League) and only 3 of them have had Robin in them.

He’s a pretty essential part of the comics, why do you think it hasn’t translated to film?

Just using Nightwing, and aged up Batgirl, and and older Tim and Jason would solve a bunch of the child issues

There would be a lot of questions of which robin to use that would make the creators set a time period to which events happened.

It would have to be night wing or a really well written damian wayne.

Just keep it simple and have Nightwing already be established in Bludhaven. Tim could be the current Robin and Barbara should already be Batgril. Have Bruce already have some run ins with Ras and the league so it's more of a we meet again Detective type shytSame way the movie seems to be setting up with him already bumping heads with a good amount of his rogues. Just skip the intro entirely.

The Arkham game series pretty much shown it can be done with older robins. Personally I never thought cbm are where we should look for realism anyway. If you tell me a trained kid is taking down adults just make it look good.

Because the movies have been fukking up. Nolan single handily killed Robin.

It has translated into film. It's just that Robin isn't concurrent with Batman, he arrives later.

Comics, cartoons, movies are all pretty consistent with that. But the former 2 can get more reps in than movies.

i.e. If you reboot the franchise and start from the very beginning (i.e. Batman Begins), well you're going to be 1-2 movies away from a Robin showing up. 1-2 movies = 4-5 years.

I wouldn't count BvS or JL since those aren't "batman" movies in the same sense as the rest.
