What a load of nonsense. These brothers are depicted as victims who had their business stolen by this evil man Ray Kroc.

First of all it was Ray Kroc who turned McDonald’s into what it is now; a multibillion dollar world wide food giant. If it wasn’t for him, McDonald’s would’ve disappeared into history alongside the thousands of small restaurants throughout history. The brothers were simply happy to run their little restaurant in their little town, make their money and that was it. They had no ambition to expand and become a big. It was Ray Kroc who did that. Turned it into a franchise, set standards that every McDonald’s restaurant anywhere must follow or lose the licence and that’s what made them successful

Second of all, the brothers even when Ray Kroc was working his ass off doing all the work and making them money while they did nothing, did everything they could to sabotage him. Jealousy or whatever reason I don’t know.

Thirdly when he finally decided to buy them out, they were paid very well. Millions of dollars. These brothers retired comfortably as one of the richest men in America thanks to aRay Kroc. They’re not some sorry victims who Ray Kroc took advantage of.

I just finished reading “The Founder” book after watching the movie. Go read the book brehs. one of the best biographies and business books you will ever read

Agrees

I guess the issue comes with the brothers having been forgotten when people talk about who founded McDonald's

Which made people think ray Kroc "stole it" from them

facts.... just depends on how you look at it.

alot of people got a hatred for the calculated capitalist and admire the homegrown underdog.

If the McDonalds brothers grinded up to a billion - they would be hated for being oligarchs.

people hate boss shyt.

I think it was the fact that Kroc promised the brothers they could run the original location unmolested and then he opened up another location like right across the street which forced them to close the OG.

Seemed like Kroc was just a ruthless a$$hole but thats the nature of business. 98% of successful businessmen are ruthless a$$holes, its the game.

When you read the book and how the brothers kept going behind his back to sabotage him despite all the money he was bringing them, you’ll understand why Kroc did that to them. By then end they both hated each other

People hate those who exploit others for their gain

It's a natural reaction to parasites

You aspire to parasitehood others so you defend exploiters every chance you get

It's because the average person can relate to the McDonalds brothers as victims, because the majority of people are victims, and they have to find someone as evil, so the person who is most successful will always be seen as evil.

The McDonalds were focused on burgers, which is cool. There's nothing wrong with getting comfortable in your situation and living life at a certain level the rest of your life. But Ray Kroc was focused on building a network, which is how you actually get ultra rich, which is cool too.

Hard to find high level success in any field without being completely ruthless, because you're competing with other ruthless folks. How are you gonna beat someone who is willing to take it to 100, when you aren't willing to go past 50?
