Your hoops analysis is
I didn’t say he lost them the game.
I said Zion needed to take the ball from RJ, and he didn’t.
My only other issue is we not seeing a jumper but I low key feel he isn’t asked to and we will see it next year like we did with AD.
Yea but Tucker is knocking down that corner three.
But hes too small for the nba
Sfs in the nba are like 6'10...
He would havr to be a small ball PF but he cant shoot
Coach K was giving RJ free reign at that point in the season and he was chucking like Westbrook. Guards always have their hands on the ball as is. Not like Zion was gonna bring the ball up the court every possession.
We'll see how he does in conference play but I wouldn't put too much into that Zaga game yet.
No, I'm counting Texas Tech... a game they almost lost
You edited your post before that as well
You are basically putting all the responsibility for that loss on Zion, saying you "need to see him demand the ball more" when he wasn't the reason they lost in the first place, it was RJ's ball hogging and Coach k was allowing that. Cam Reddish didn't even show up but people got him going top 5 despite being unimpressive as fukk lately. This isn't the NBA where you just demand the ball, it's more team oriented and Zion is a team player unlike RJ honestly.
But now we know who's team it is. Like I said, 4th game playing together while Gonzaga been together for years with a bunch or Jr's and Sr's on the team. That loss meant nothing
Great point about those two
Spin-move, finishing around the rim, passing, the block shots...all that stuff actually impresses me than the dunks...and the energy. If he keeps that mentality all the rest will follow, looks like he has the tools to work around whatever other limtations he may have imo
I said that too initially and I still see some Grandmama in him but he's a bit more fluid than that.
HES A 6'5 GUARD
HE SHOULD BE KNOCKING DOWN THE CORNER 3.
YOU COMPLETELY MISSED THE POINT.
What impresses me the most about Zion is how under control he is. You rarely see him take bad shots or force things. Not something you see with freshmen.
He threw more oops in this vid than he caught
He just went 3/4 at the 3pt line the other night and nikka still say he can't shoot
He shoots FT's better than RJ but they still trying the can't shoot narrative.... Honestly the fact that he hits FT's is going to help him at the next level more than anything because they're going to foul the shyt out of him trying to keep up
Won't lie I haven't watched a whole game (just long high lights) but his shots don't look bad at all...and yeah hitting FTs will def help him with how fouls are called in the NBA
It's so obvious people don't watch games. These hot takes are terrible.
He can hit them he just doesn't need to usually.
He's a slasher but he's been working hard on that shot and has the green light, he just doesn't take many 3's being by the goal and in the post most of the time (coach k has him playing PF).
Honestly, I don't even think they run plays for Zion, he just does the hustle shyt like rebounding, steals, blocks, FT's, etc., and gets a lot of his points
