Why does Jason Campbell suck?

I know he's a game manager that doesn't take risks. But he's had time to get better and learn to take risks without turning the ball over. He's a poor man's Alex Smith.

He doesn't "suck". He's a solid backup QB. Possibly even a good starter for a team. Keep in mind he started on the Redskins and had to deal with Al Saunders and his infamous 700 page playbook which hasn't helped anyone since the Chiefs and had to deal with Jim Zorn for 2 years.

Raiders did him dirty when he got injured.

He became timid. Lacked confidence. Never played with a sense of urgency.

He had the talent to be as good or better than the Andy Dalton's of the world. Just never became comfortable on the field.

hue jackson basically fukked his confidence up badly imo

add his fragility and Im not even sure hes a decent backup anymore. few games he took over as backup he didnt look good at all

with guys like campbell, you have to consistently improve them...he was progressing nicely, and then raiders basically threw him in the bushes after he had his best season, after a bad injury. he couldve been doing what alex smith is doing right now. instead hes basically an injury-prone backup clipboard holder at this point.

Raiders are a POS organization for what they did to him. He had a good run of games with them, then caught an injury. They went into panic mode, and fukked up.
