Why does Nancy Pelosi sound like a Republican in this quote?

She doesn't. How we intend to pay for single payer and keep it funded is the largest fundamental hurdle of getting it passed.

Taxes get raised and the government has to set pricing regulations on medical care, prescriptions, visits, etc.

If The AHA is replaced, she loses her greatest achievement as Speaker of the House.

If the AHA is replaced with something worse while in the majority, she’ll have to explain it to her party’s base.

If the AHA is replaced with something better while in the majority, she’s going to have to explain it to some of her fundraising network.

The status quo in regards to the American Health Care system is perfect for her.

meaning she hasn't done her research at all on the matter. thats idiotic

She doesn't. How we intend to pay for single payer and keep it funded is the largest fundamental hurdle of getting it passed.

She also in that interview doesn’t know that both Medicare for All bills in the Senate and House provide comprehensive coverage with dental and vision.

Someone should also tell her we are paying $2 trillion a year on public healthcare and single payer would cost another $1-1.3 trillion since that’s our private healthcare spending. The advantage of single payer is once you consolidate that then you can control and reduce costs.

When everyone is throwing out $30 trillion over 10 years, they ignore we will spend over $20 trillion over the next 10 years on public care anyway and it’s not comprehensive.

So the question should be how can we not pay for single payer?

I'm not saying its it's actually the case

But if you were a hypothetical unscrupulous evil capitalist overlord who needed to select someone to act as controlled opposition in the left-wing party of your hypothetical 2 party political system

Wouldnt your pick look like an aging white corporate whore who only looks like a democrat now that the Tea Party and MAGA succeeded in moving the political "center" all the way to the right.

Nancy isnt a macro economist and never has been.

I am not saying that it is easy to prove that single payer could work in America, but that there is more than enough debate on this in real intellectual circles that the Speaker is doing a disservice to millions of Democratic voters by delivering that sort of pithy response as if its childish and naive to believe nationalized healthcare is feasible whatsoever.

@FAH1223 exactly - even if it turns out that single payer wouldnt work for US, its not some mythical, laughable concept like Fox News or Nancy Pelosi might say it is
