We hear a lot about Brad Stevens, Pop of course, Carlisle, Steve Kerr and even Terry Stotts as potential Coach of the Year candidates. But I've heard precious little buzz about Dwane Casey and the job he's done with the Raptors this year. Here are some of his credentials:
-Improved the Raptors record for each of the five years he's been there, including this one
-Oversaw Kyle Lowry's blossoming from curmudgeonly trade bait role player to legit starter and All Star
-Coached the Raptors to the second seed in the East, the fifth best record overall, and the best record in franchise history (52-25)
Now I realize his team has never been past the first round, but that shouldn't have any bearing on his coaching job this season. After all, like we saw with Stevens and other coaches who are given time to grow, a coach can improve at his craft and Casey has done a great job with the Raptors. I'm not saying he necessarily deserves to win it, but I can't be the only who notices how the job he's done has been largely ignored by the media types who vote on COTY.

thats where it ends.
