Why doesn't the day 1/entourage mentality apply more for normal brehs?

Shouldn’t mix business with pleasure.

Athletes put their homies in charge of investments and business all the time and then end up on 30 for 30. Rich Paul and Bron being titans of industry is an exception.
Rich Paul also had a business mind and experience as well, he's still friends with his guys from high school and who he grew up with but I don't think they do any business with him.

Its interesting to read this because for as much as the Coli likes to preach group economics and keeping money within the community the sentiments expressed above are also not rare on here either.

Why would a friend just give you a duplex that's easily $250,000?:wtf:

Unless ya friends is worth 9 figures you really shouldn't expect anything. Not to mention money changes people

Because most successful people are good at identifying who’s really bout it and who ain’t. If they ain’t coming to you to support and be a part of your opportunity then you gotta ask yourself why

Majority of people day 1 friends should be left behind. Folks grow apart. Of my day 1 friends one went to jail for murder, one is a pastor on the other side of the country, one is MAGA, and the last I actually am cool with.

Most of the friends I actually associate with now I met after high school.

Just because someone dad bought a house near your dad doesn't mean yall actually compatible as friends when you become adults.

When rappers/athletes make it they usually pull a couple of underachieving old friends up with them to enjoy the fruits of their labor.
Simply knowing this dude yielded a ROI.

Why don't normal people with competent friends do the same when they come up?
I have multiple friends who have businesses, real estate investments, hustles. They tell me AFTER the fact or maybe sometimes before the fact when it's just an idea
But even then they just telling me. Never have any of them said "hey, I got 5 duplexes....I'm ah just give you 1 since you my day 1"
The fact I know these dudes don't mean I'm getting a piece of shyt :dahell:. If I get in on it I'm have to bring something to the table
The main difference is none of us were bum dudes sitting around hoping one of our friends would turn into a breathing lottery ticket. But still it would be nice if we moved like the jews and asians in terms of pooling our moves and resources

a friend making moves who didn't offer to hold my hand and get me involved from the gate motivated this :sadbron:
rappers and ballplayers generally run with low skilled friends/family who either A: were literally bumming around all day until their rapper friend blows up or B. Friend who is a ball player gets spotted early as the next big thing and they become hanger ons and find ways to become useful to the enterprise.

The average group of friends dont work like that. At some point after high school, people develop these things called"careers" wherein a particular skill set is needed to capitalize. Also friends dont have pull or capital like that to be handing it out.

So even as close as you may be personally, they professionally dont know you from Adam and dont have the clout or security to take a risk on you being on the same professional level.

Above the fray.

Those things are based on education and commerce.

Entourages are seen as hangers on who leech from a mega rich athlete.
