The problem is until recently efficiency was an issue but also on top of that he doesn't get rebounds, he's not much of a defender and he's not much of a facilitator. What Chris Paul did was do the dirty work allowing Devin Booker to do what he does, without tanking the defensive/effort aspects of the game, while being an efficient scorer, making most out the touches he has. Also Devin being a pure scorer helps Chris Paul because he doesn't have to shoulder a heavy scoring load while he does all the inbetween stuff and being a floor general.

Devin Booker avg 4rebs.....Kobe n Jordan avg 5.

Lets not act like they were avging 8 or something.

Book gets buckets

Dude been putting up 27 ppg for like the last 3 years. Analytics be damned, teams been gameplanning for him since his sophomore season :unimpressed:

Give him time man. He's not great on D but he's gotten better each year.

He can playmake well but he's not as a full time PG and was forced to be that for significant stretches previously.

He's still young (under 25) and rounding out his game. Remember, this was the caliber of our starting lineups for pretty much all his time in Phoenix.

Book could grab a couple more rebounds a game but he is still fairly young so he will continue to round out his game. When he is putting up 30/6/5 a night on excellent percentages the analytics will fall in love with him.

All he does is get buckets. From a pure scoring perspective he’s a child of Kobe but in terms of what he does impact wise he’s more like Melo. Not a playmaker, doesn’t really rebound, nothing special on D. Amazing scorer
Interesting analysis. Wrong, but interesting.

As I said earlier in this thread, he can playmake just fine.

There's a different not being able to do something, and sacrificing your game so other players can eat. Booker has clearly been doing the latter this season.

Regardless, analytics sometimes does underrate players due to various factors and I think Booker, similar to Kobe, is in that category. Booker currently has a PER of 19 and is averaging 29/7/5 on 50% shooting or thereabouts. I don't think that PER number is a good reflection of his on court impact.

his game is mostly anti-analytics; too much midrange, not that great at 3's and ehh in the paint/not a high volume of fts
