Why don't free agents take less money to play with Kevin Durant and Russy like they do Lebron?

I haven't seen 1 nikka take a dime less to play with KD and Russy in OKC. They even had to overpay Perkins bum ass to stay. OKC is competing for a championship right?

Ownership operates as it's a hard cap. With 2 max and Ibaka, OKC won't even use their exceptions. If I was a thunder fan I'd get in Bennett's ass about him messing up your chance

and this is an EASY answer.

The OKC Thunder almost exclusively build from within their own resources.

Look at the roster. Most of that team is 30 and under. Most of that team is comprised of guys they drafted. Sam Presti prides himself on being able to cultivate, develop and produce his own players. There simply hasn't been a need or opening for the type of players that go ring chasing somewhere else.

I'm saying they couldn't even get a mediocre 2 guard like Swaggy P to play for the league minimum.

They don't see that team succeeding with two superstars who aren't on the same game plan. Durrant more passive Westbrook more emotional and aggressive. We have seen it time and time again on why westbrook is shooting in clutch time when KD should get the ball.

They're trying to develop Jeremy Lamb. They're not seeking out Nick Young. Like I said, they're trying to use what they have. That could bite them in the ass moving forward if Presti's luck runs out the way it did with Kevin Pritchard in Portland, but that's the route they're taking.

I'm talking about the nikkas that sign to Miami while leaving M's on the table like Ray Allen did. When is somebody going to do that in OKC? shyt, when is somebody going to do that to go to San Antonio?

whos out there?
It's about who was out there that took less money. Look at what Darren Collison took to play for the Clippers, he could've helped. shyt look at OKC's SG and C, why didn't Oden sign there for the minimum? Why couldn't they sign Swaggy P for what the Lakers got him for? Altogether the 3 guys I named are making less than 5 million collectively next season but look at the cities they chose to sign with.

That would require interest on OKC's end though.

Why sign Collison when you're developing Reggie Jackson?

Why bother kicking the tires on Greg Oden when you just used a lotto pick on Steven Adams?

Why be interested in Nick Young when you hope Jeremy Lamb makes the next step?

Altogether those 3 guys make $5.4 mil next year and 2 of the 3 are on long term rookie deals. They have a different approach.
