Kg was still the best pf in the game in 2008. Ray Allen was still the best shooter and was still dunking on nikkas. Pierce was still a top sf and had his best year. I don't understand when folks say they were past thier primes. That didn't happen until years later

This is stupid for a lot of reasons. Mainly because stats don't always tell the whole story.

Is Steph any less of a player than he was less year? No.

He's playing worse, but he's still capable of the same level of play.

His role has changed. The team is different. The other team was perfectly designed around him. This one, not so much.

His play has little to do with role, he's shooting worse than he did. And that's irrelevant. He's still in his prime, he's just not at his apex.

LeBron isn't past his prime now. He's past his peak and on the tail end of his prime.

Kg avg 22 and 12 and ray avg 26 in the year before they were traded. You guys acting like 30yr olds aren't still in their prime are ridiculous

Another thing to look at is the situation their teams were in at the time of departure.
Minnesota went 32-50, missing the playoffs for the third straight year in 2006-07.
Seattle went 31-51, missing the playoffs for the second straight year in 2006-07.
Meanwhile...
Cleveland went 61-21, losing in the Eastern Conf. Semis in 2009-10. The Cavs also had 5 straight postseason appearances and back-to-back 60+ win seasons.
Oklahoma City went 55-27, losing in the Western Conf. Finals in 2015-16. The Thunder has made the postseason 6 of the last 7 seasons.

Bobcats already had this game won and then Ray Ray came through and crushed the buildings, I always remember this gamewinner when I think of that 08 Celtics team :krs:
Players on the Bobcats couldn't believe what had just happened :wow:

Didn't the rondo dunk on Hamilton happen during the regular season too?

Those were two of my fave moments, that's my fav season ever too
