I know lie detector test results are not admissible in court

But they are supposed to be like over 99 percent accurate

So why don't people like George Zimmerman, darren Wilson, the kid who was with Mike Brown take a lie detector test administered by a non interested party on national TV and release the results to the general public?

If I'm George Zimmerman and I really was being pummeled to death and really did fear for my life and felt I had no choice but to shoot this kid then shyt I would take a lie detector test and answer very specific questions to let the public know I'm telling the truth

Would this work to calm public outrage?

Would the results even matter?

Someone who is innocent has a 50 percent chance of failing a polygraph due to tension associated with being grilled by some little worm. Basically these tests lead to alot of false positives which means it's not a science......but an art.

They don't really even use this garbage in court unless they feel they have enough substantial evidence in other forms and even then they rarely use it. Its a joke that won't die.
