You need stars to compete in this league If you have Wiggins, Towns, Muhammed, Lavine and Dieng do you really wanna hire a hard ass coach who runs sets or a guy that will give them free rein to learn on the job and not be hard on them if they shoot 9-29 one night. Neither guy knows how to use a white board but there tremendous player coaches who in still confidence in their players and have a loose atmosphere. Durant, Westbrook and Ibaka loved Brooks and Curry,Klay and Draymond loved Jackson. Like it or not but iso ball is still king in the NBA and with this amount of young potential why not give them the rock and see what they can develop into. And if they develop nicely just fire them later down the line for a coach that can get you over the hump.

Flip got the job done he secured the number 1 overall pick he would be foolish to think he can still coach and run the team. I think he will hire a coach at some point maybe before the season or maybe next season. There's only 3 coach gm's though POP is not the GM of the spurs R.C Buford is.
