Got this from a reddit thread where they talk about France possibly coming forward to limit drug prices
Remember, dikk pills sell not because they're solving a public health need, but because theres a market for it.That was actually a good read. If I remember correctly I think the US exclusive patents on drugs is 12 years. There's no reason for it to be that long. I understand the " innovation angle", but 12 years doesn't seem feesible.
Research hours, researchers, insurance, due diligence, materials???430mil pre-human, 965mil clinical...why does it cost that much?
then why are drugs cheaper in other countries? do they not do research?Research hours, researchers, insurance, due diligence, materials???
oh, and lets not pretend any of this itself is free...theres a lot of loans given out as well. Its not just grants and altruistic endeavors.
Well frankly they charge what they can get.then why are drugs cheaper in other countries? do they not do research?
But that's not what you said. You said it was the cost of research. Are you changing your answer to they charge what they can get?Well frankly they charge what they can get.

YOu're being dense. But that's not what you said. You said it was the cost of research. Are you changing your answer to they charge what they can get?
How does us rd supplant the world? Is it easier to science outside of the us?YOu're being dense.
Its more than one thing
1. They charge more because americans are wealthier and are a larger market
2. US R&D supplants the rest of the world.
The USA does more research than several of the next major countries combined. It's that simple. How does us rd supplant the world? Is it easier to science outside of the us?
Define wealthier.
