Why have the Dems (Even Bernie) completely caved on the border wall?

All immigration proposals they will vote on today except McCain’s include funding for the wall. Schumer, Bernie, and most of the other libs, even the REALLY liberal ones don’t even seem to be pretending to fight against this. What gives? I thought we all agreed that a border wall is the biggest waste of fukking money ever?

because it's something you act like you care about in order to trade something for it. everyone knows the wall won't do anything because it's not a real wall, it's just more spending on border security.

They're also trying to throw token funding it's way then bury it in so much red tape and bureaucratic walls that the entire budget will be gone before they even break out a single length of fence.

The wall is never happening. Neither side really wants it, nor to spend the likely trillions of dollars it would take to ultimately get done.

No they don't, they like using the symbolism of it as a blunt political tool like being "hard on crime".

It's a feint, a ruse. It's always a ruse.

If you say so. Id recommend checking out political videos from the 90s cuz you’re wrong. Dems has advocated for the wall/fence all throughout the 90s and switched up when George W got in office.

You don’t even have to go two decades back. We can go back to 2005.

Democrats Weren’t Always Super Liberal On Immigration
