Don't believe cac history breh, the underground railroad was thousands of miles long, not hundreds. Shyt was high speed too but they don't wanna give brehs credit for their ingenuity b/c cacs were still on their steam engine technology

While we're on the subject though, I took some students to Ohio last year and we visited the house of John Parker (the abolitionist) that brought slaves across the Ohio River in his boat. We were checking out some of the routes and houses slaves stopped at and I guess it hadn't dawned on me before but think about this:

Slaves were getting around in pitch-black darkness (can't carry a lantern or you'll be seen by slave catchers) and sneaking around for fukking MILES at a time WITH small children that they had to somehow keep completely silent with the hopes that they'd end up in the right spot to get across the river without running into someone with hounds and getting caught.
