There is no such thing as Superman trying to fight to kill except Doomsday. The notion is ridiculous...Zod fights like that. Not Superman. Superman is never gonna outsmart Batman. He can't even outsmart Luthor.

Superman and Batman are both written poorly

Superman has access to advanced alien technology, all the knowledge of his civilization including martial arts and yet his first go to is to fly toward something and swing.

Batman is basically plot armor manifest. Prep time my arse. If Bruce walks up on Superman I'm checking for any lead. If batman went to squeeze the trigger of a kryptonite gun, his hand would've been severed..

Yeah Magneto would launch Bruce Wayne off the planet..Doom would have Batgirl as his servant to get close to Wayne while he chills on Doomworld. Superman isn't as tactical or as smart.
