My guess is that there's more variety and interactions on the local level than on the national level.

The local level can have someone literally knocking on your door or talking about how they are going to install speed bumps on your street. National feels less tangible and so more likely to be based on 'vibes' for those that don't follow policy.

In the same way that there are people that care about the local and then can take or leave the national, the reverse applies too. So when people are only motivated to fill out a ballot based on the president running, the worse Biden does, the more it affects them.

Some people only pay attention to elections and candidates during presidential elections and tend to vote among party lines. Instead of just not voting for Biden those people just won’t vote for anybody at all.

This. Typically anyone who doesn't vote in one doesn't vote in the other. Everything gets dragged by Presidential races in one direction or the other.

Nobody is excited to see Biden stump for Governor/Senate/House candidates the same way partisans are for Trump and were for Obama. They are supposed to lift these people up and Biden can't do that; also risks having another gaffe on the campaign trail.

The house should be democratic at the end of November …if the democrat candidate for president is strong it’s a forgone conclusion because a good amount of the seats that can be flipped are in Cali and NY ..if voters aren’t enthusiastic they can say fukk it and stay home because Biden gonna win both states regardless…but those seats can stay republican.


Slotkins seat up here is up for grabs ..if Biden or whatever democrat is strong Michigan and that seat stays democratic….if he/she is weak the opposite could happen …

Couple reasons. Some people are so disgusted with Dems that they feel insulted. As for senators, their support or lack thereof is dividing the party. Meanwhile, people in major cities are seeing more immigrants while (separate issue) their pocks are getting thinner. Senators now are so focused on Biden they are ignoring what's impacting voters. Just IMO.
