Why is everything Kendrick and Kanye do overrated by the masses

because they make lowest-common-denominator follower music disguised as high art. Even the masses wanna feel like they listen to quality music among the usual bullshyt. But they still don't want anything that really challenges them intellectually or emotionally. That's where Duckworth and Koonye come in.

Kanye has actual hype behind his stuff though and there genuine interest in the music. It is being overrated.

Kendrick is legitimately loved though, it's just that his albums lack the pick up and play bounce.

Kendrick is loved. Absolutely, but you would think he is highly in demand or dictating rap culture which is far from the truth.
Maybe it's because I'm in the south but over never seen rap fans care less about a tier 1 as far as relevance goes rap artist

This. The bar is so low, these nikkas look like godsends. Kendrick, while talented, wouldn't stand out in '94.
Kendrick's music is close to the level of Young Thug's. Let's not kid ourselves here. Take the marketing out of it. Both of these guys make vapid ass music that panders to whatever brand they're about.

I could see if Kendrick was a self-aggrandizing mess like Kanye, but Kendrick is a cool ass cat, and seems mad humble and normal.
