Why is flipping others tracks negative now? (50, Max and more built themselves on it)

I noticed a lot of people mad at Drake for Hotline Bling and a few other examples. Is fliping somebody else beat/melody no longer allowed?

its a different case

Drake is the bigger artist. DRAM the smaller artist that got strong armed because they attempted to removed his involvement in the inspiration/original track from history. Equaling no promo/money for DRAM.

Max B was always the smaller artists so when Max B hopped on a bigger artist song chances are the song was already a hit and everyone knew the household name of the original artist.

50 Cent and Max B dropped mixtape freestyles over other, already popular, people's beats.

Drake flips hot songs by lesser artists and releases them as retail singles.

This is a recurring pattern that extends beyond just D.R.A.M.

Drake has a history of dropping "remixes", jacking flows, and melodies.

It's one of the reasons why he has remained relevant for so long.

Hotline bling isn't a remix of Cha Cha and Drake always gives more exposure to the lesser known artists he works with this is a fact

We are in an era where it's possible. Do you think 50 wouldn't do what Drake does because of "ethics".

Yall so idiotic. Would you like Hip Hop classics examples of flipping old tracks :lolbron: Do I need to give you examples? Come on

It's not negative now.... it's just that anytime a rapper drops a hot song, the very next fukking week you have mediocre rappers dropping freestyles and remixes over it....and they're not fukking good at it.

Dudes like Fab, 50, Jada, Game, Wayne etc. built a reputation for taking other peoples tracks and dropping fire on them...... now it's just a shytload of rappers who don't even have their own hot songs to begin with.

Dudes are just blowing this out of proportion to feed their anti drake agendas.

This has been a staple in hiphop for like 20 years.
