Why is it that we can actaully feel when someone is looking at us?

I think we all have certain psychic abilities. Like how flys and bugs know exactly when you're about to swat them.

i think it might have to do with the change in air current around them. which is why flyswatters have holes in them.

yep. not to mention the faster the movement, the better the fly sees it.

you can poke a fly in the face with your finger if you moved slow enough.

Exactly, I don't know why this thread is so long. Sometimes you look up and catch the person's eyes, sometimes you don't. There is no sixth sense for when someone is looking at you

It may be some deeply ingrained survival instinct.

It's not in the same context the OP was speaking on but I've talked to a number of ex-military people(special forces commando types) both on and offline and read a lot of literature on the subject, and they all say that humans can indeed 'feel' when someone is watching them, especially the head/face area.

For instance if you're sneaking up behind someone(i.e: a sentry) it's best to look at their legs/ass area. Apparently when you look directly at the back of their heads they invariably sense it and turn around.
Another example would be a sniper looking at someone through the scope of his rifle. Some guys believe the scope somehow amplifies the killing intent or whatever. Apparently the target starts getting anxious, starts fidgeting around etc.

yeah we got some kinda advanced mental capabilities going on in the human brain. how else can you explain "deja vu?"

advances in brain study and the matrix type shyt will be around in the future, but it pains me to know I won't be around to see it.

Its energy, this entire universe is made of energy including us. Its all around us in the form of oxygen/molecules/sunlight etc, and every now and then we feel this energy in the form of stares, bad vibes, good vibes,love,depression etc.. we just dont have the capabilities to fully control it yet

Remember that humans only can use about 10% of their brain, i think that grows over time and evolution and in the distant future we'll be able to use the energy around us to our advantage somehow. Our bodies already produces small mounts of voltage to send signals.. i really think over time we going to untap all the potential we have.
