Bc it equates intellectual disability with being dumb or stupid. When you call someone the r word, you are saying that they are as stupid as someone who is mentally handicapped and that isn't right at all.
What happened to you leaving?

Because it isn't the person's fault they were born with a disability. Many people who don't understand the mentally disabled think there is nothing going on upstairs but trust, they are very functional once you learn how to communicate with them and they have real emotions and feelings just as we do. It's disrespectful for any population to view others as subhuman.

I don't know but I do know that they were oppressed way worse than any homosexual I've ever met. For years they were basically locked up in institutions and people threw away the key. They went through hell in these institutions. Never given an opportunity to live a relatively normal life. Only in the last 20-30 years have they been treated as individuals who can make their own decisions, have rights, etc..

Homos and retarded people have both been considered undesirables in the holocaust and in the 90s when v for vendetta blew up parliament. Fags used to be considered tards if im not mistaken. What does it matter who had it worse?

It doesn't matter to me but to look at it from the current political climate perspective, there's much more being done about gay rights than the rights of the disabled and obviously there is a lack of movement in the struggle. We shouldn't be selective in who is heard and who isn't. But we are because of $$$$

I think the money thing is true but not a bad thing. Also, gay people can fight for their own rights so it really is apples and oranges. Part of being heard is being able to speak. Furthermore, we gave those nikkas an olympics. what else do they need?
