Why is LeBron routinely painted as an underdog?

No bullshyt. I find this fascinating

He's a top 5 talent all time. Arguably top 3. Has a pretty great squad around him and yet is expected to lose every year in the finals. This year in particular if the Warriors make it. Even if they don't, I'm sure Vegas and the media will label him an underdog against either the Rockets or Spurs

Is this all an elaborate ploy to boost his legacy or what? :patrice:

Would you admit that a some of the teams he faced were built SLIGHTLY better than his? Aside from his first 3 years in Miami and the last 2 years in cleveland, he was pretty much an underdog his entire career.

Was he expected to beat the spurs back to back?
How about the 67-15 warriors without Love and only having Kyrie for game 1?
Nah how about the 73-9 warriors?
Wait, how about with Kevin Durant this time?:mjlol:

Let's be serious. Not to mention he was facing the big 3 in Boston, and the Detroit Pistons. Just like now, those teams are built better than his, so he had to face them on the road.

2013- Spurs were the underdogs
2014- no underdogs really

2013 was basically even.

I ain't getting how you could possibly call 2014 even. Spurs were lighting the world on fire, while outside of LeBron the Heat were :flabbynsick:.

Wade was hurting that year and was completely ass by the Finals, and Ray/Rashard/Battier just got too old and realized it was time to retire. Yet Spolstra had to start them in games cause the lineup was so weak.

It's hilarious. They always say he's the greatest yet they always act like he has no chance just to praise him even more.

Warriors starting lineup is made up of 1 top 5 pick. Cavs have two overall number ones and a number 4, but let the media tell it, and the warriors didn't earn anything

The heat did look unstoppable against the Pacers and Wade played well. It was until when the series started when wade was rocking the :flabbynsick: logo heavy

We got cheated from a real Pacers-heat series that year because that was the year Hibbert inexplicably morphed into a fukking piece of furniture every other game. There were three games where Hibbert was very mediocre - Pacers won two of them and nearly got the third. Then there were three games where Hibbert was a steaming dumpster pile - Pacers lost all three. If Hibbert had been 70% of himself each day, Heat might have been in trouble.

The Nets series too - Lebron had to hit nearly 50 for the Cavs to barely win Game 4, then Brooklyn had the ball and a chance to win with 10 seconds left in Game 5 but couldn't get PP or Iso Joe a shot. They could easily have been up 3-2 going back to Brooklyn at that point.

The signs were already in place. 38yo Ray Allen playing 25 minutes/game even though he can't guard anyone and has been reduced to doing nothing on offense but hit open threes. 35yo Rashad and Battier combing for 40 min/game even though their defense gone too and their offense is just standing outside the line.

Wade going gimpy in the Finals was just the last straw. That team had some offense but they couldn't guard anyone when they had 2-3 of old Ray/old Rashard/old Battier/gimpy Wade on the court at all times.

Damn it...they were basically a poor man's version of this year's team. If these Cavs have to give a lot of minutes to Deron/Korver/Love and Kyrie is anything less than 100%...Warriors going to run fukking trains on that D.
