Shultz already addressed it. You only talking to 12% of the population when you are doing street hip hop.
These white folks don't even know who Lil Baby or Lil Durk is.
The reason why Drake can fill out because he talks to everyone.
Lil Baby is exactly like Olivia Rodrigo. You ask two sets of people if you heard their music and one party is going to look at the other like they are crazy. You live two differently completely different lives that never overlap.
Yep, its happening in every city..
Lil Baby blew up during the pandemic, they should've took him on a 3-4k capacity venue tour first.. not arena for his first major tours... it takes years to able to do arena tour.
He did like 200k first week that’s not arena tour numbers. Most artists selling out arenas. Doing minimum 300k especially rappers. This was a horrible management move. Should have stuck to amphitheater’s and called it a day
There's a difference between being the hottest rapper in the game and the biggest.
Truth is even someone like Kanye who has been a hot mess for years is still a bigger star than Baby.
And he had the nerve to compare himself to Wayne
Yeah he probably had too much dip on his chip doing arenas. Also who’s filling up an arena in Arkansas?
it's not pre year 2000 anymore like none of this is actually true
street acts have a hard time pulling a diverse audience to shows but that doesn't mean their listening base is mostly or all brehs not even remotely true anymore.
Arena too big
His fans are kids.
Look at the "numbers" people like Rod Wave and Polo G do. Sure he's gotten bigger than I possibly thought he could but are those arena tour numbers? And yes, cacs don't have the balls to go to those shows
Lil Durk/Lil Baby as entertainers have not taken the country by storm as of yet. That is certainly not to say they aren’t doing well but it’s simply a difference
I fukk with lil baby thats my nikka
But he not a pop star like drake em or jay to fill out arenas
shyt I'd even doubt wayne or kanye can pull it off
Plus theres still a pandemic: only people not really givin a fukk about it are the magas, so thats that
It's a L but if I'm being honest I was surprised the Lil Baby and Durk album flopped and came and went so I could see how his management miscalculated.
He needs to establish tour credibility first at a smaller venue level. He’s a star not a spectacle. You have to build up that word of mouth that his show is something you have to experience.
And he needs an album like Astroworld that crosses over and is also critically acclaimed.
Basically COVID robbed him of a critical part of his rise.
