Books will take you to another place. I love that moment when you go to an exciting place in a book, and you close the book to take in the moment.Right now I am reading Born in Blood and Fire. A concise history of Latin America. For fiction I am reading the book Wicked.

Reading is immersive. You delve into a deeper world. It activates your imagination, forces your mind to absorb and soak into a new reality and connect directly to the world the author creates. It's a very in depth mind to mind connection.

TV is something similar but on a grosser, less subtle, physical plane. The way the screen interacts with your eyes and body, the way it interacts with your body, is akin to a drug in some ways.

Reading improves grammar, reading ability, and your writing. Tv doesn't. Only real difference in my opinion. They can both teach you facts and improve your vocabulary.

i don't think TV is bad. Just bad to watch all day.

Another benefit of reading :blessed:

Your on the internet tho. You can literally copy and paste any word you don't understand into Google and up your vocabulary in seconds.

I read a lot but I don't like when people act like reading is automatically a superior hobby.

It can be just as :trash: for the brain as television or movies.
I mean if a chick is spending hours a day reading shytty historical romance novels she's frying her brain just as much as a dude watching family guy marathons.
