because of charlatans trying to rip people off.

im in solution selling for a digital transformation firm and yeah, you can make a ton, but you do it though repeat business. breaking into new clients takes MONTHS from the first call to the first sale and its not sustainable if you have to start from scratch every deal.

the only way to get people to trust you and REPEAT is by delivering what you said you would and working hard in their best interest. i'm a great advocate for my clients and im very transparent with "look, im going to take good care of you because i need you to buy from me for a very long time. the only way i do that is if you trust me."

I'm not sure who looks down on sales unless it's some stuck up whiteys. If you're good at selling you always got a great source of income. shyt you'd rather get commission vs having a set salary. You control your earning potential.

Pharmaceutical sales man they cake like crazy.

If the product is really as good as the seller claims he wouldn't need to constantly persuade someone into buying it
thats not necessarily true though. Some ppl are just so used to what they know or already have/use to open their eyes to something that could be better or more efficient.

I think people look down on it because of the stigma. They think its like the car sales men or that your trying to swindle people. But the reality is, if you have the right skills, sales can be a very good career path. I work as a sales engineer. I think most people think i sell computers at best buy. But its actually a critical role in the tech sales industry and a great fit for me.

Selling technical solutions for example isnt as simple as whether it is as good as the seller claims. It might involve detailed integration into a companies infrastructure and then explaining how the solution solves business problems. These business problems aren't always cut and dry and these solutions arent bought off the shelf(usually). Usually they are different for every organization and if you dont have a sales person that can translate how their solution solves those problems or a technical team that can properly show it working in their environment then it could be the greatest solution out there and it will not get bought.

never really understood why sales as a profession is looked down upon? Sales is acutally one of the main areas that bring money and business into companies and I do know you can man alot of money in software sales.

Reality is most people are scared to sell. The best lawyers and bankers are top sales people. People get caught up thinking "sales" is just used cars and multi-level marketing.

As someone mentioned before, sales is a career that can benefit blacks because you're somewhat of your own business. If you're bringing in revenue, no one will bother you. The key is finding a sales job where the commissions are high. Pharmaceutical sales is a good field that comes to mind. As more jobs become automated, sales will be one of the few areas that will stay in demand. It doesn't matter how good your product is, you need people to sell it.

It's pretty hard though. I listen to drug reps everyday try and push a product on us. I have no say because it's up to the doctors. But when they do hit on a product it is BANK! Thought about doing it myself but my drug knowledge not quite there yet. I'm actually tryna set up some production to where i can sell my own medications. I will be legal trapping by 2020 :lolbron:

Bullsh!t. If you aren't constantly pushing for marketshare through marketing/sales ... your competitors will

You rest on your laurels and you'll end up bankrupt or in the same spot for years ...... fukk that.

Nothing wrong with reminding your client base why your product/services are the GOAT

Proactive Growth >>>>>>>>>>> being comfy til a competitor eats you

Who cares ? if you are making money hand over fist who cares about validation from people ?

Your commissions/refferal fees are the scored card. Just donate a percentage to charity and when anyone
tries that sh!t ...show them it's for this women shelter/ childrens home/ animals and they will fall the f*ck back

That's why it's easier to acquire clients from another business with a similar consumer profile.
Joint Ventures are literally the best way to get new clients and leverage the existing trust from another business.

A landscaping company using an real estate agency
Moving company using an real estate agency
Home refinancing using online gambling lists
Logistics SAAS using a commercial truck dealership list...

Also a lot of people don't ask their current customers for referrals enough ...worse yet even ask
their customers what other services they need to compliment their own offerings.
