I’ve had chicks(people in general really) tell me they love me and I don’t take it serious because the actions don’t match what I consider love.

Love is also subjective in its meaning. Someone telling you they love you doesn’t mean anything if it’s not the kinda love you’re looking for.

you got a real narrow definition of love, that's why. Loving someone requires something of you in how you treat them and the place they occupy in your life. You can accept people and do nothing for them. But if you love them, as in actively treat them with love, you show that in multiple ways.
