he was a DJ...
...he came in when the mixtape game dried up.

He was smart and pivoted into something else...
...probably used some of his connections to get the initial interviews...
...and he worked his ass off.

A lot of other dudes could have done the same thing...
...but unfortunately we dont really promote entrepreneurship in our community.

Probably no coincidence that the owner of the biggest site to come out of hip hop (WSHH) has immigrant parents.

This, plus:

- Vlad is from The Bay, so he got that hustle gene.

- he (gasp) actually talks to people who are interesting. He will sit down with a person like King Tee or Lord Jamar who have
been around or know some chit that people actually want to hear about. I say that to say, Vlad isn't stuck in the realm of
"I have to interview ______ person right now, because they're 'hot'".

When he isn't instigating shyt or when his interviewee is aware of it and knows how to curve, he can drop some dope/interesting interviews.

The full interview of Killer Mike was pretty good.

It's either people who want to do an interview and get views and/or people who want money.
Say what you want about his show, but not a lot of interviewers give your money and generate a lot of views. It's hard to get on TBC or Hot97 unless you are relevant or have a relevant project, preferably a major deal too.

This internet era is crazy, how a dude like Tax stone actually receives money from various sources to speak about current events :mjlol:

Yup. Thats one thing I'll give him credit for. There's a ton of older artists with a million stories and opinions and he took advantage of that.
