Easily write songs that are 4-5 minutes long (especially the late great 2Pac Shakur), but your favourite MC today can barely make it to 3 minutes...?

Dudes are writing songs that are 2 minute long, and need 2 to 3 features to add an extra 1 minute, and we end up with songs that are 3'30" long...

And you expect me to buy albums...?

I thought I was only once that noticed.

Songs back then were mostly between 4-6 mins, now you look at the tracklist and song duration on albums and songs are 3 minutes long. Same goes for R&B music. Song structure is a verse, chorus, verse, chorus then maybe a 3rd vers and last chorus, and then thats it. And these aint radio edits. lol.

Say it quick, say it well

i think it has a lot do with it, but it started way earlier with t.v. (commercials, movies, videoclips).

do the test, look up an old music clip with the long cuts and everything and try to watch if your brain says it's bored because there isn't enough stimuli happening compared to todays video clips
