:heh: before tony dungy bucs havent made the playoffs for 15 years

again, dungy has over 1.5 times the wins as johnson. and he has one less ring than johnson. stop with your mindless cowgirl dikkriding. if I was up to me, jimmy johnson would also be in hof anyway; however, tony dungys resume is far more impressive

So, turning a program into a playoff team is better than turning a 1-15 team into a dynasty. :mjlol: Only on the Coli. :laff:

I was asking myself this this past weekend and without looking up stats I couldn't justify it.
Please answer my bullet-points:

  • He only has 1 Super Bowl, does this make you HOF worthy regardless of L's
  • Is he a product of Peyton Manning?
  • I mean, people may argue BeliCheat being a product of Brady but Dungy's Colts aint shyt without Manning right?
  • There defense was shyt in Indianapolis so is the Tampa Bay defensive guru rhetoric far fetched?
  • Is he a safe pick for white people cause he's light skinned and ultra conservative Christian?
  • People may say he made the shyttiest franchise of the 80's relevant, again, Peyton Manning?
  • Again, don't give a coach credit for drafts, that's the GMs job; you don't give GMs credit for wins on gameday right?
  • Couldn't win the big game. Manning eventually wins a SB without him but does he without Manning?
  • Is he even the reason why Manning has only 1, I mean the Bucs never sealed the deal with him as coach. So the lack of a big game coach talk comes into play
  • Cowher won 1 Super Bowl and was a successful coach but will never see the Hall, so why Dungy?

But then I looked at his regular season record...
139 - 69 .668
Amazing...

So I'm still somewhat on the fence and would have to compare him to coaches who aren't in the hall

Opinions?
I agree with you. I thought he did a great job building the team in Tampa Bay but he did a horrible job with the offense startin Shaun King at QB for awhile

I think gettin the one SB in Indy and him being the sort of Black Bill Walsh as far as his coaching tree is concerned and him being universally respected as a great human being is going to get him in..

But on pure coaching X's and O's I dont think he is a Hall of Fame coach but we'll see.

139 career wins is better than 80 wins. you can add 20 wins and 139 would still be better :manny:
not to mention, yall were fine after jimmy left as well. aikman emmit smith in back to back drafts didnt hurt :heh:

You do know Tony coached more years than Jimmy dummy. :comeon: And it's was Jimmy who was smart enough to draft Aikman and Emmitt dummy.

Tampa was fine without Tony as well. :sas1:
