Lupita has graced several major magazine covers including being named PEOPLE magazine's "Most Beautiful Woman 2014", has appeared on a lot of talk shows, is one of the faces of Lancôme, etc.

Lupita is the breakout star of 2014.

So, why is that since her Oscar win in March 2014, she's only booked two roles:

1. a supporting role in "Star Wars" that won't be released until late 2015

2. a voiceover supporting role in "The Jungle Book" animated film that won't be released until late 2015?

Here is her whole filmography

2013 12 Years a Slave Patsey
2014 Non-StopGwen Lloyd
2015 The Jungle BookRakshaFIlming
2015 Star Wars Episode VIIFilming

She switched agencies in April 2014.

"Star Wars" is a major franchise that should not be sneezed at, but speculation is that her role is not that big (lead).

The other roles that she had been in talks to star in also were supporting roles, and for one of them, Rooney Mara was chosen.

She was everywhere at one point.

In your opinion what happened ?

of course not. When you brought this up 6 months ago, dudes were coming at my neck for it :heh:

Actors film projects basically in stacks months in advance. They stay layering projects. If her career was really popping she'd have been in the middle of filming more heat during the oscar season.

Blame it on hollywood or maybe her inability to accept roles.

We'll never know.

People are so quick to pray on black stars downfall. A role in Star Wars and The Jungle Book remake isn't enough? Maybe she's being picky in the roles she chooses to go for? Maybe she's not jumping at every role she's offered because she wants to have a long career and not oversaturate herself just cause she has "a moment".

Some of y'all are really in the cut hoping she "falls off" and doesn't get any roles. Why? Just so you can say you were right and that she was just a novelty to Hollywood for them to exploit? She won an Oscar in her first role and instead of celebrating it you rather want to talk about "What has she done lately though? :sas1:" when the oscars where only 7 months ago. :snoop:

only so many ethnic roles needed in hollywood.

think about the last time you've seen an indian woman in ANY major role for a hollywood movie.

they only need white ppl for roles up in the biz.

its tough out here for minorities
