To some extent, and I say some because I think our upbringing is largely the reason why as opposed to happiness. The adage of happiness in giving is one we've all heard even if there isnt a church bone in our body. Its so much a part of our makeup though, that to do on behalf of others is like second nature. I can say though that it is a good feeling after doing something positive for someone. Maintaining integrity and doing the right thing feels good too.

I try to make other people happy, but at the same time I put my happiness above everyone elses.
If I'm not happy, no one will be
