Because the NFL instituted this rule in 2018 to combat kneeling. Its.more relevant and direct effect of something that happened this decade. If the NBA started enforcing a no custom TShirt rule then Im sure you'd be getting backlash. This isnt even that hard to understand and if youre one of the people involved in that sad NFL/NBA stan war take a step back and think about when the last time either of those organizations cut you some bread

Has there been an article or any information about the implementation of the NBA's anthem rule? I don't it was to take direct shots at the black players like the NFL, but still I think the story of how it came to be should be told and explained. Or maybe it already has, someone link me to the info if it's out there.

fukk both leagues. I disagree with their statements of we will help stop these problems that happen to black people. But then the turn around to implement policies because their racist fan base that can give two fukks about black people is okay with these situations happening.

If you look at it these rules are to the benefit of white folks that protested by lowering ratings not the black players that protest.

The Sterling incident is enough to show you they don’t care.

They agreed to it before it even became the item of what it is today. Outside of Mahmoud Abdul Rauf nobody gave any thought to anything anthem related til Kaep came along. Plus the NBA brass and players are closer and are more in bed together than the NFL where its owners, commish, and players are all damn near all enemies

that’s what I thought too, but wasn’t the CBA signed the year Kaep started kneeling? Like a couple months into football?
I hope it’s dealt with next CBA or earlier

Nba rule is based off of Rauf doe. The Kap situation is exactly like the Rauf protest. He protested they black balled him and than made the rule everyone has to stand.

Maybe its something that was always in the CBA that carries over from the last CBA and the one before that and before that. Maybe the only thing discussed is new items being brought to the table when they negotiate

True but Rauf's protest was pretty much a Muslim thing and not a the issue with the treatment of black America if I can recall correctly. No other player really rallied around his Muslim faith demonstration plus Farrakahan hated to see him go through the scrutiny and told him to chill and just say a prayer when the anthem was played.. so the Rauf situation never really escalated to the level of the Kaep situation at all. It probably would in today's climate tho knowing how a big segment of the population hates Muslims. :francis:
