• No-one to handle the trash because most (if not all) people wouldn't be working

Weekend warriors chomping at the bit for a Civil War don't understand that all of the creature comforts they enjoy would be over. And even after such a war, the already crumbling infrastructure would be worse off, the dollar won't even continue being a reserve currency, and there'd be nothing left here.

The idea is that it only takes 3% of the population to overthrow the country. The rest that agree with them will inevitably fall in line or support them afterwards. That said, you will most likely first get a civil cold war with some of action taken by the government to try and force things in addition to right-wing nutjobs operating in an organized fashion with Trump and his ilk allowing it. It won't be like the first one but a policy-driven and economic war of attrition with dashes of terror on a scale surpassing what we have now.

Imagine a world where the Feds only protected the citizens rights, the national borders and interstate commerce. Each state would do it’s on thing and if you love community you would move to California. If you love autonomy you would move to Texas.

Each state handle its own retirement, Medicare/health insurance, education etc. Feds only make sure the borders are protected and each state doesn’t shyt on its citizens.
