This is like textbook Hollywood bubble brain shyt. He’s so obsessed with demographics and audience (ie box office) approval that his idea of a slave movie is something that empowers black viewers without turning off white viewers. So you’ll get some movie with a slave owner with a heart of gold, or multiple white characters who are sympathetic.
He says all this while trashing a movie that was a major success where there’s what, one sympathetic white character and the rest are racist/evil? And Django was a massive hit despite that lol.
