And this is why we see year in and year out good running games and pressure on the qb win playoff games. The basis of football will never change. No matter how many gimmicks and schemes and whatever come into the league.

Get a good O line and a good D line, you'll always have a chance come January.
FACTS. Every. Single. Year. They gas up some high-scoring, spread bullshyt squad that plays no defense and then January happens. Every year. Blocking and tackling. Run the ball, stop the run. Game don't change. Only the names.

There's nothing more depressing than watching your team with a bad o-line. Ravens 2013 :mjcry:

Last season though the line was GOAT. Maybe second behind Dallas. Yanda was the best o-lineman in the league last season

yea Osemele is dope, and Wagner really came on. dont want to discredit Forsett for his career year but he had alleys to run in

I thought that the d-line just outpaced the o-line in terms of athletes
That's always been the case.

All these problems that the article touches on, have been a constant in the league for as long as quantifiable data has been in rotation - which is a long damn time.

Maybe the coaches are trash. Why does it always gotta be the players/NCAA coaches fault? These guys are supposed to be the best of the best. Show it instead of acting like hoes.

The combination of the OLine being less skilled and defenders being more beastly makes rise to this problem. Great OLinemen today have to seriously be some good technicians.

Granted some schools like LSU have horrible DLine coaches also. Recently at least, LSU DLine prospects are really raw.

OLine is nearly everything. Last year my team looked like the best offense in the league the first 6 weeks. Even beat the defending champs pretty thoroughly. Then our OLine started getting injured everywhere, it was a night and day difference. Started 5-1, finished 9-7 with nbearly healthy skill positions.

i dunno breh defenses are inhumanely good nowadays :whew:

Gotta agree. With all the rules they have to STOP defenders from being able to play defense, players still being able to lock each other down and stuff is insane. Think about how good Sherman/Revis/other defensive backs could have been in the older days when you could actually touch receivers.

A pro coach shouldn't have to teach amateur athletes the bare basics of blocking, the college game theoretically is supposed to be preparing these players for the pros. Sadly, that's not the case with the explosion of spread offense in college. Some of these players have never been asked to put their hand in the dirt, outman the person in front of them/climb the ladder and wall off a backer. Or take a bucket step, and determine whose in the gap, if someone is in front of them, or should they move on to the 2nd level and hit a backer. Spread offenses, though fun and generate a ton of points, are detrimental to the next level, where (some) teams are still playing some form of smashmouth football.

Agree with this article 100% though, even with my love for Air Raid :mjcry:
